Q. (October 2008) What about the thirty or so pastors who brazenly defied the prohibition on partisan speech by unequivocally endorsing John McCain for U.S. president from their pulpits on a single given Sunday?

A. The plain intention of these pastors was certainly to challenge the condition they are convinced is an unjust constraint against their freedom of speech. The problem is they are asking to change the rules they themselves agreed to follow in order to receive all the benefits of non-profit status.

The presumed objective of these ministers is to draw a prosecutorial action to challenge in court. The quasi-Christian but wholly Romanist legal group inciting the action is the Alliance Defense Fund.

The ironic truth about their desire to spit at the World System and stay on its payroll is best expressed by Thomas Jefferson, who confirms the fact that the System must keep its paws off people who wish to live exclusively by the Kingdom. The following is from the preamble to the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom:

"Whereas Almighty God hath created the mind free; that all attempts to influence it by temporal punishments or burthens, or by civil incapacitations, tend only to beget habits of hypocrisy and meanness... that to compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves, is sinful and tyrannical..."

These are the words of Caesar himself, simply meaning that a man may choose to live free without any obligation to the state or vice-versa (unless of course Caesar has reason to prosecute such an individual or group). An assembly of worshippers does not have to be contracted with Caesar in any way. In today's terms that means a church may speak freely with no constraints as long as it is not contracted as a 501c3 non-profit incorporation.

But if it is, it must follow the rules the issuer of the contract explicitly requires.

When a minister of a 501c3 church declares it is an official backer of some agent of Cain, this year that individual seems to be John McCain, he is formally pronouncing that he is a hypocrite, and to the extent his assembly follows him in that hypocrisy they all become impotent when it comes to their witness for Jesus Christ.

As a government entity — precisely what 501c3 signifies — the church is agreeing to be completely impartial and objective, just as all government employees are expected to be wholly non-partisan by law. If under these conditions it pronounces favor of one political agent over another and it is paid to do so (by receiving considerable tax exemptions) and thoroughly disrespecting the value of those contributions from those who do not have such an advantage. Not only is this rank deceit, but such an assembly is clearly being double-minded and in danger of being spit out of the mouth of Jesus Christ.

As a Christian church — at least they really believe that they genuinely are one: given to Christ, committed to discipleship under Him, mobilized to reach the lost — and they also proclaim a devotion to an agent of Cain, in this way they are double-minded as well!

The 501c3 non-profit incorporated status is 100% biblical, a provision with reasonable rules for those who like being in God clubs that will constrain their sinful behavior. It is biblical because it is precisely what Cain uses to manage the evildoing of those under his lordship by his elaborate World System of ruthless law enforcement.

It is also biblical for one who is living as a Kingdom priest, completely and wholly free from those constraints to pour out Christ's bountiful love and charity on a dying world, to refuse to sign on with these contracts because he already rejoices by the Truth and Grace in which he thrives.

How abjectly regrettable is it that God by His own word will bring proper judgment against these churches on the last day. The wonderful news is that assemblies which see how Catholicized they are may repent and revel in fellowship once again.

Finally, it cannot be emphasized enough. Jesus Christ is master of the entire universe. He can do anything a church body wants to do with a twitch of his pinkie finger. I don't know what Bible these people are reading, but the real Bible is full of His desire to do whatever it is they want — protect the lives of pre-born babies, restore sodomy-minded individuals' sexual identities, utilize the entirety of the fruits of their labor for tremendous abundance in their communities, their nations, even the world. Hey, they'd even see people saved, healed, reconciled, alive, all of that —

But only if they abandon their efforts to seek such things from the pitiful efforts of Cain's agents.

— Only as long as they humbly make Christ their One True Lord.

To the extent they lie about where their allegiance rests, He'll remain distant and, for the time being, sorrowful.
